The Authors Grandfather - Mr Gunaji was well known in his time for several books that he had written both in English and in Marathi some of which are in print even today – Sai Satcharitra, Bhagvadgita and Raman Maharshi’s Saddarshan.

The author of the ‘Legend of N V Gunaji’ has recorded for future generations, the times and culture of the era that her Grandfather lived in and spun it into the family saga . She has also described Belgaum, the place where he came from, she has given a background on Saraswat Brahmins and has translated from Marathi various anecdotes and stories that had come down by word of mouth. She has enclosed writings from family friends such as Kaka sahib Kalelkar, Indira Sant and essays that the family has contributed to the book.
